## Medical Examinations by a Physician Certified as a Diving Instructor

Our clinic is registered with the **Diving Doctors Network (DD NET)**.

The director of our clinic is a licensed **scuba diving instructor** as well as a physician, providing medical evaluations from a professional diving medicine perspective to help ensure safe recreational and professional diving.

# Before Your Appointment

### 📅 Appointment Required

Diving medical examinations are **available by appointment only**.

Please call our clinic in advance to schedule your appointment.

### 🩻 Chest X-ray

A **chest X-ray is mandatory** for all diving medical examinations and will be performed at our clinic on the day of your visit.

### 🫁 Pulmonary Function Test

If you have a **history of COVID-19 infection**, a **pulmonary function test (spirometry)** is required in addition to the standard examination.

### 📄 Medical Certificate Forms

If your diving organization requires a medical certificate, please bring the official examination form provided by your training agency or diving organization.

# Conditions That Cannot Be Certified for Diving

### Medical certificates cannot be issued for patients with the following conditions:

For safety reasons, we are **unable to issue a diving fitness certificate** to individuals who currently have any of the following medical conditions:

* Asthma
* Pulmonary Emphysema
* Pneumothorax (Collapsed Lung)
* Severe Heart Disease
* Other conditions that are considered incompatible with safe diving

We appreciate your understanding that these restrictions are based on diving safety considerations.

# Fees (Self-Pay)

Please note that **all diving medical examinations are private medical services and are not covered by Japanese health insurance.**

**Additional Fee**

If a pulmonary function test is required, an additional **¥5,170** will be charged.

# What to Bring

### If You Need a Diving Medical Certificate

Please bring the official medical examination form required by your diving organization (such as PADI, NAUI, SSI, BSAC, or other certification agencies).

If you do not bring the required form, our clinic can prepare one for you. In this case, the examination fee will be **¥9,300**.
